GFI, developer of the market-leading GFI FAXmaker fax server range, has launched a new version of GFI FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP, 11. Version 11’s main new feature is its inbuilt SMS gateway that enables network users to send SMS messages from their desktop. GFI FAXmaker for Networks/SMTP 11 supports Windows Server 2003, and also includes the capability for users to receive faxes in PDF format.

GFI today released a white paper to help network administrators tackle the growing problem of Trojans, which are increasingly being used to steal credit card data, passwords, and other sensitive information, and to launch electronic attacks against targeted organizations. GFI today announced the release of GFI MailSecurity for Exchange/SMTP 8, an email content security product that uses multiple antivirus engines, exploit detection, an HTML threats engine, and content and attachment checking to scan incoming and outgoing email for viruses, exploits and attacks. Version 8 includes many key features, the most significant of which is a new Trojan & Executable Scanner.
